Session 21, Day 28 evening
  • Defeated the Mega Kraken Bot and the necromancer Mivra.
  • Left one Sons of the Kraken alive and told him that the party was only interested in the dwarven miners, and Earl Bromkar was not officially attacking the SotK.
  • The party took Mivra with them but left her guarded by the Mid Realm faithful.
  • The Fonk, Kiri, Captain Olander, and first mate Saburo accompany the party through the sewers.
  • Brother Virtok gave the party a gift of items to help them in their escape and to thank them for giving his people a second chance with their gods.
  • Brother Virtok and his men distracted the majority of the gang, Sons of the Wererat, but three remained. The party engaged the SotW, but then discovered a roper was also guarding them.

Loot: Double barrel musket +1 (Shamash), short sword +2 with dwarven runes (K’un L’un), Portion of Climbing, Spell Scroll (Faerie Fire), Potion of Healing (Myron), Spell Scroll (Burning Hands)

Session 20, Day 28 evening

Day 28, evening

  • In the basement of the prison the party started a fight with more Kraken children who formed their individual robot vehicles into one larger robot.
  • The strange engine started up and killed an unknown man trapped in the glass tube, kickstarting the engine on.
  • Steen freed captain Olander and first mate Saburo from their glass tubes.
  • Mivra, the necromancer’s daughter, revealed herself to be allied to the Sons of the Kraken and started to fight back against the party.

Day 28, evening

  • The party broke into the Gai Moor’a jail defeating the outside and ground level guards.
  • The party goes down the elevator where the other prisoners said the ship captain and first mate were taken.
  • Deep below the prison the party found a strange, giant engine. Four prisoners were trapped in glass tubes connected to the engine:
    • Captain Gosta Olander
    • First mate Saburo
    • Mivra, daughter of the necromancer Yorin
    • Unknown human male
  • Kraken children in mechanical suites are guarding them.

Loot: steamplate with wired mace connected to an electrical generator (1d6 lightning damage, CON save vs DC 14 or be stunned. Check each round to break stun. Each use consume an additional 1/4th of the steamplate’s elemental coal fuel)

Session 18, Day 28

Day 28, early morning

  • The party decided to leave Tark once he spotted them and moved into the street into the view of the city guard.
  • Party scouted the green house where the Grimtooth were holding the elemental coal. They chose not to engage them that night.
  • Long rest

Day 28, afternoon

  • Overnight the Sons of the Kraken (SoK) discover the merchant ship that transported the party to Gai Moor’a. They put guards on the ship and imprison the ship officers near the SoK throne room.
  • The SoK are now willing to buy the elemental coal from the Grimtooth Battalion.
  • The party waits till nightfall to rescue the officers.

Day 28, evening

  • Tark sends word that he wants to help the party.
  • They meet in a warehouse for the Gea god temples. They party agreed to help Tark clear shipping lanes, in return he will rescue the crew while the party gets the officers. Tark will also fly them all out from an airship he has nearby.
Session 17, Day 28

Day 28, early morning

  • The party convinced the Grimtooth to stand down and the party escaped the Shell-less Mermaid.
  • In a nearby alleyway the party went over the map on Jaezin's body seeing where the elemental coal is located.
  • The ghost of the dead pit fighter comes to Vaunk and Vaunk has the choice to send the soul to Valhalla, the realm of Hades on behalf of Garl Glittergold, or a mysterious third door manned by a cloaked figure offering gold. Vaunk chose to send this soul to Valhalla.
  • The party tries to scout the meeting place with Howellan Tark, but is discovered by Iliviel, an elven agent of Tark.
  • Iliviel warns Tark across the street that the party is coming after him, and Tark moves to escape.

Loot: tiny pearl handled pistols +1 (double barreled, range 30/90, 1d4 piercing damage), tiny musket (range 40/120, 1d8 piercing damage), tiny leather duster +1, tiny Cloak of Protection, Deck of the Gambler (1/day a hand will win 70%, lose 20%, opponent will see cards change 10%), 1000 GP in gems

Session 15, Day 28

Day 28 – early morning

  • Party defeated the mini-Kraken and took the petrified gnome, The Fonk.
  • They party dropped the unconscious Virtok off in an alley.
  • The party went to the Greasy Girallon to see Kiri.
  • The party Un-petrified the Fonk.
    • Kiri and the Fonk will wait in Gai’Moora to help the party hoping they will help save their village from being destroyed by Earl Bromkar.
  • The gems with transmuted dwarves were given to Brother Vitel for safe keeping.
  • The town of Gai’Moora was put in lock-down as the Sons of the Kraken are looking for the strangers who stole from them. The gates are closed and two pirate ships are preventing any other ships from leaving port.
  • Brother Vitel arrived and reported that Tark and the Grimtooth Battalion are going to make their transaction that night for the contraband steamplate and the elemental coal stolen from Attigen’s mines.
  • The party went to the bar with the Grimtooth are waiting before the sale, The Shell-less Mermaid (a mercenary bar which has a fighting pit). They go into the bar under the guise of The Company of the Iron Coin
    • Grimtooth present: four hobgoblins, a hill giant outside, and a quickling commander.

Session 14, Day 28

Day 28 – early morning

Party continued to battle the mini-kraken and their puppet, Virtok.

Session 13, Day 27-28

Day 27

  • The party left the necromancer’s (Yorin) tower and rested before infiltrating the Sons of the Kraken’s throne room to rescue/pilfer The Fonk and the remaining dwarven miners in the gnome’s possession.
  • Brokmund finalized the purchase of a smithy which he donated to temple of Brokkr/Odin/Thor.
  • Brother Vitel informed the party that Tark found a buyer for his contraband suits of steamplate and it is non other than the Grimtooth Battalion. They are still negotiating a price.

Day 28 – early morning

  • In the dark of night the party snuck into the throne room. Steen tried to silently approach the petrified body of The Fonk, but was discovered by a vapid human named Virtok.
  • A man-sized squid revealed himself from behind the throne, from the other side of a clear wall that holds back a giant tank of water. It sent a tentacle through a sealed hole in the glass wall and possessed Virtok to speak through the human. The giant squid is in fact a child of the giant Kraken which died fighting the animated sea turtle during The Coven War.
    • When the druid awakened the giant squid and charmed it, the druid did not know that the squid was pregnant. Its children were also given intelligence. And psychic powers.
    • Tens of thousands of children of the Kraken rule Gai Moor’a.
  • Six mini-kraken entered the room piloting small jars on robot legs to attack the party.
Session 12, Day 27

Day 27

  • The party went to the tower of Yorin, the necromancer, to request the Scroll of Greater Restoration to free The Fonk from petrification.
  • Yorin’s daughter Mivra brought them to her father sleeping off a recent drinking session (Mivra suggests this is a common event).
  • Mivra locks the party in the room trapped with hungry zombies her father has forgotten to feed. And his angry flesh golem.
  • The party fought their way through enough zombies and the flesh golem to wake Yorin.
  • Yorin is always wiling to cause the Sons of the Kraken trouble and gladly gave the party the scroll of Greater Restoration.
  • The command word to revert the gems to the miners is: “f*&# turtle”
